Barbary is just about finished with men. First, her
scoundrel of a husband, Conor, runs off with an opera
dancer. Then her own special friend jilts her for marriage
to another.
With a broken heart and debts to the skies, Barbary heads
for the safety of Paris, hoping that her lookalike cousin
Mab can protect her from life's shocking reverses.
Unfortunately, Mab has a storm of troubles of her own,
including an insistent duke and a passion for Napoleonic
politics. And Barbary's presence only worsens a very sticky
situation. When the cousins are mistaken for one another and
unwittingly aid the Revolution, the police are brought in!
Life had never been so maddening--especially when the men
they feared were gone forever reappear with love very much
on their minds....
