Romance Paranormal | Romance Historical

He faces a future of cold uncertainty, until her warm embrace...

Part of a Viking crew of warriors cursed by an evil sorceress, Gunnar the Red must toil through eternity as half-man, half-beast, living out his days as a great bull, while his nights are spent in human form. And though he keeps mostly to the wilds, his heart yearns for the simple comforts of man-and the chance to redeem a tragic past...

Seeking refuge from a bitter winter in the welcoming hall of Richmond Castle, Gunnar rescues two maidens when a blaze erupts-and his destiny is forever altered. For one of the young women is Lady Eleanor de Neville, who is immediately entranced by her rescuer. Her kiss of gratitude-the brief touch of her lips against his cheek-awakens a longing in her soul. And even when she is betrothed to another, Eleanor never forgets her courageous knight.

When Gunnar rides back into Eleanor’s life, she is consumed by undeniable passion. And though his body surrenders to her every touch, Gunnar’s heart remains imprisoned by the curse-and only the magic of the truest love can save him...

I read romance to add spice to my otherwise boring life.

I love the thrill of living a different life, however vicariously, each time I read a romance.
(
Maria Munoz 8:07am January 27, 2011)

Romance just takes you away and adds a little bit of fun to your day.

Joanne Reynolds 9:00am January 27, 2011)

Why I read romance? The exhilaration, the enamored partners, the love is all mindset. It's sexy, it's fun, it takes you to a wonderful fantasy land.

Dee Gol 9:49am January 27, 2011)

A good romance can bring some fun, spice, excitement & spontaneity to your life. As my husband would say, "A happy mommy means a happy family". lol.

I read them because you don't always get that kind of romance in real life so its nice to find it in fiction

Romance is one of the best ways to tell any story. Plus the bonus is the main warrior type character that takes the stage to love again or try.

I read romance to escape from day to day life.
(
Jean Patton 11:02am January 27, 2011)

I read romance for the simple reason of needing to get away.
When I read it makes me forget the stresses of motherhood and
life and takes me to a fictional place that I can get lost in.
(
Leagh Christensen 11:05am January 27, 2011)

I read romance for the HEAs, the journey of two people coming together and overcoming whatever obstacles are in their way... that happy feeling when everything comes together well at the end.
(
Colleen Conklin 1:37pm January 27, 2011)

I'm loving the comments. Escape seems to be leading the reasons,
and it's one I can relate to. I've been a total romance fan since I
stumbled onto The Wolf and the Dove on a paperback trade shelf in
my apartment building in 1978. My goal is to bring my readers the
same sense of discovery and excitementÑand escapeÑthat I had the
night I opened TWATD for the first time.
(
Lisa Hendrix 2:27pm January 27, 2011)

I love the HEA. I’m amazed by the creativity of building new worlds and revisiting old ones. Romance offers fun and fantasy, suspense and sensuality. But mostly, I love it because of the characters—those larger-than-life heroes and heroines who let me slip away and enjoy their experiences for a couple of hours at a time.
(
G S Moch 2:48pm January 27, 2011)

Pure escapism. I like happy romances, not a weeper with a happy ending romance. I don't want to read anything that makes me sad.
(
Anne Muller 2:59pm January 27, 2011)

Why do I read romance? It's like that old Calgon commercial from long ago.

"Romance, take me away...."

It takes me to places I would never would venture otherwise.

*sigh*

Cynthia Netherton 4:24pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance to escape to a wonderfully blissful reality!!and for the sexy scenes too!!:)
(
Clio Teixeira 4:36pm January 27, 2011)

I'm definitely in the same camp as those who read for the escape and the satisfaction of a HEA.
(
Jane Cheung 4:49pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance so that I can be taken away to another place where everything ends with a nice story! In the end everyone is happy.
(
Brenda Rupp 4:52pm January 27, 2011)

When I read a romance I become completely engaged in the story and really will not notice how much time has gone by. It is a great way to take a break without leaving the house.
(
Maureen Emmons 4:58pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance to excape my dull everyday life.

I read romance to escape and dream of how life could be.
(

I read because I love the way it all takes me away to another place!!
(
Jean Benedict 6:05pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance because, in a perfect world, that's how it
should happen for all of us. Plus, it's nice to see how the characters s work themselves out of sticky situations and it
makes me realize that romance still exists.
(
Margay Roberge 6:14pm January 27, 2011)

Because I believe in love, friendship, commitment and trust.
(
Diane Sadler 7:08pm January 27, 2011)

Reading romance gives me the ability to be a different person with each book. I can shed my cover as the commuting office worker to be that Regency heroine today, the tough supernatural ass-kicker tommorrow and the woman being targeted by a mysterious villain the day after.
(
Carol Drummond 7:12pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance to escape from reality for just a little while.
(
Teresa Ward 8:23pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance to get a little love back in my life making me feel more of a well-rounded person.
(
Alyson Widen 8:37pm January 27, 2011)

I work in a profession that is high-pressure and often depressing. When I
read romance, I go to a world where all the problems get solved and
everyone lives happily ever after.

You ROCK with your awesome writings!
(
Melisa Clark 9:14pm January 27, 2011)

Romance novels are a great way to fill time and escape into what is going on in the book you're reading. It's great entertainment.
(
Leni Kaye 9:18pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance because they give me a chance to play an adult version of "pretend." When I read a book, I like to put myself in the place of the main character. When a book is well-written, I can really get swept away by the book, and forget about anything else that's going on in my life at the time. It's nice to get books from different genres and pretend that you get swept away by different characters.
(
Peggy Roberson 10:27pm January 27, 2011)

Love the cover-art. That guys is hot! The book sounds awesome too! :)

Diane Sallans 10:46pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance to appease the growling inner masochist that tends to rear her ugly head with every derisive comment that spews from my husband’s mouth. Let’s face it, women read romance because we are missing that element of magnetism, desirability and excitement in our own lives. Our masochist gets her thrills from feeling an attraction to the men in these books. And we encourage her. We fatten her up with the sweet indulgences of hot images like rich chocolate when we’re on a diet. We feed her dreams with this brain candy. We live vicariously through her because after all...she gets to fall in love with the hero and never suffer any consequences. She’s not cheating (it’s a book), she’s not going to end up pregnant (frustrated maybe, but not pregnant), and she isn’t going to get her heart broken (unless of course it breaks her heart to know that no man will ever live up to such breathtaking standards). It’s a win/win. All the seduction she can imagine, none of the cost. The best part is...she can live it over and over and over again. What woman can resist having her cake and eating it too?
(
Bridgette O'Hare 11:15pm January 27, 2011)

I read romance, or any book, to learn something I didn't know previously. That's why I prefer books that transport me to countries and epochs with which I am unfamiliar, or which I have visited, to learn more about them. That also pertains to mythical realms, the future, etc.
(
Sigrun Schulz 11:28pm January 27, 2011)

Romance novels take you back to those feelings in your youth about fairy tale love; before you fall in love and every day life becomes a part of love (still good love, but no the same). Undying love, love that has no boundaries, love that will come to you no matter what life throws your way.
(
Diane Chenier 11:48am January 28, 2011)

I read romance to visit different worlds in print (and on my Kindle). I love reading all kinds of paranormal stories, historical romance,contemporary...etc.
(
Ann Garland 2:07pm January 28, 2011)
