Women's Fiction Contemporary

Janet DeMarco has had enough! It's time to make some changes, and no one in her family is exempt. She resigns as cook, laundress, housekeeper, chauffeur, shopper, and ATM. In her new persona of Hope, Janet learns that the questions we sometimes ask of ourselves may force a change. And, sometimes, they lead us right back home again.

Janet DeMarco is feeling unappreciated, underestimated, and misunderstood. She has to many 'uns' in her life. When she accidentally resigns from her job in a moment of frustration, her husband thinks it's a joke. Determining he doesn't take her seriously, she decides to resign from her other roles as well: housekeeper, cook, laundress, chauffeur, ATM… As she listens to her teenaged children plan their futures, Janet realizes she never had the luxury of dreaming about what she wanted to be when she grew up. She's happy in her marriage, but needs to know with certainty that this would have been her choice. As she takes on a new identity and explores the choices she has made, changes begin to happen all around her.
