Lisa Miscione
While hard at work publicizing other authors at a major
publishing company in New York City, Lisa Miscione was
burning the midnight oil to complete her first novel, Angel
Fire (St. Martin's Press; February 2002; $23.95). Writing on
the train during her commute from Brooklyn, at nights after
bookstore events for authors she publicized -- and even once
sneaking out a few pages during a sales conference slide
presentation, scribbling on hotel stationery in the darkened
room -- it took a few years to complete this thriller.
She effectively "dropped out" of Manhattan life in the year
2000 to get married and become a full-time writer, and soon
after she was signed on by literary agent Elaine Markson.
Now living in Clearwater, Florida with her husband, she is
working on her second and third novels in what has become a
"series" featuring Lydia Strong. The second novel, currently
untitled, will be published by St. Martin's Minotaur in 2003
simultaneous with the paperback release of Angel Fire.
A graduate of the New School for Social Research/Eugene Lang
College in Manhattan, Miscione's work has appeared in The
Tampa Tribune, The Riverdale Press, and other publications.
She is also a member of the Mystery Writers of America and
Sisters In Crime organizations.
