James McGrath Morris
James McGrath Morris is an author, columnist, and radio show host. He writes primarily biographies and works of narrative nonfiction. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Morris spent a decade as a journalist, a decade working in the book and magazine business, and a decade as a high school teacher. He is currently working on a new work The Ambulance Drivers: Hemingway and Dos Passos--Literary Lives in War and Peace that will be published by Da Capo Press in 2017.
Aside from writing books, Morris is the author of a column called "Type A" that explores the changing world of publishing and reading. He is also the host each of month of "Collected Words," a radio show produced by Collected Works Bookstore and Cafe and airs on KVSF. He is the former president of Biographers International Organization, of which he was among the original founders.
Morris lives in Tesuque, New Mexico with his wife Patty McGrath Morris.
