HRH Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian
HRH Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian is not only the most widely read fantasy writer in France, she's also the crown princess of Armenia. Born in southern France in 1961, Princess Sophie was mainly raised in the fashion capital, Paris, by her grandparents, writers themselves, who introduced her to Alexandre Dumas, Agatha Christies, Victor Hugo and Baudelaire.
Fascinated by fantasy’s authors like Tolkien, TH White, or Edgar Rice Burroughs, she started writing stories at a very young age. Stuck in bed by a bout of appendicitis at age 12, Princess Sophie picked up a pen and hasn't put it down since. Before earning her living as a writer she earned a master's degree in diplomacy and strategy, and worked in advertising with Havas Worldwide.
Today, Princess Sophie’s private library of fantasy titles is one of the largest in France with over 12 000 books lining her shelves. Princess Sophie is known for the fantasy series 'Tara Duncan'--10 million books sold all over the world in 25 countries. She has also her own TV show.
She divides her time between her husband, her two daughters and her activity with the Children Health funds and her Princess SAM Foundation for Armenia.
