Johnny D. Boggs

Publishers Weekly has called Johnny D. Boggs "one of the best Western writers at work today." His novel Ten and Me was a finalist for the prestigious Spur Award from Western Writers of America, while The Lonesome Chisholm Trail won critical acclaim for its gritty feel and historical detail. Boggs was born in South Carolina in 1962. He worked as assistant sports editor at the Dallas Times Herald and Fort Worth Star-Telegram before becoming a full-time writer in 1998. His articles, primarily about the American West, have appeared in approximately 50 magazines and newspapers, and he is a frequent contributor to True West, Persimmon Hill, Wild West and Boys' Life. Also an accomplished photographer, Boggs lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife, Lisa Smith, and basset hound, Scout.
