Volundur Snaer Volundarson
Chef Volundur Snaer Volundarson ("Chef Worly") was born in Iceland on September 21, 1973. He was raised in the countryside in the northern part of Iceland, by the banks of Laxa i Adaldal, which is one of Iceland's most renowned salmon rivers. There he experienced the wonders of produce fresh from the fields, the river and the ocean, along with the changing seasons. Volundur started cooking professionally in 1991 at The Pearl Restaurant in Iceland with Chef Sturla Birgisson (Icelandic Chef of the Year 1995-1996 and 5th place Bocuse D'Or 1999) and Chef Gisli Thoroddsen (Club Chef de Chef) While working there he studied cookery at the Hotel and Catering School of Iceland and graduated in 1995.
