Susan Arnout Smith
Susan Arnout Smith was born in Anchorage, Alaska. Her grandparents, Gene and Marie Weschenfelder, homesteaded Spuhn Island near Juneau. She grew up in Bergen Park, Colorado, graduating from Evergreen High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder. She moved back to Alaska and worked on the Alaska pipeline and as a television anchor. Married, both her children were born in Anchorage. She's been an essayist for National Public Radio Weekend-Edition Sunday, and an award winning playwright and scriptwriter, writing television movies seen on LIFETIME, ABC and CBS. Her first novel, THE FROZEN LADY, was published by Arbor House and Zebra Books. Full of sex and violence, that historical novel is now mercifully out of print. Her first thriller, THE TIMER GAME, will be published in January 2008 by St. Martin's Minotaur. She lives in southern California.
