Linda Mintle
Dr. Linda is a nationally recognized author and speaker with an impressive list of media credits. She is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in general clinical practice for the past 20 years. She also specializes in marriage and family therapy and eating disorders. But as a therapist her warmth and compassion coupled with spiritual insight and professional acumen have created a godly, reliable ally for thousands in need. She is an Approved Supervisor and Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Diplomat in Social Work. Dr. Linda is an adjunct professor in the School of Psychology and Counseling at Regent University and a former adjunct professor in the Graduate Psychology Department at Wheaton College. She served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Eastern Virginia Medical School and held a clinical position at the University of South Florida's Florida Mental Health Institute. She writes professionally for the mass market with featured articles in several national magazines. She is the author of thirteen books: Kids Killing Kids; Getting Unstuck; Divorce Proofing Your Marriage; the six booklet series Breaking Free; A Daughter's Journey Home: Finding a Way to Love, Honor and Connect with Your Mother; the bestseller Lose It For Life, co-authored with Stephen Arterburn; Overweight Kids, a book aimed at helping parents prevent and fight the current overweight epidemic among our children; and her latest effort, Making Peace With Your Thighs, Get Off the Scales and On With Your Life. Dr. Linda is seen regularly as the resident mental health expert on ABC Family's daily television talk show, Living the Life with Terry Meeuwsen and Louise Duart (10:00a.m. EST). She also speaks for several national conferences, women's retreats and other venues. Dr. Linda received her Ph.D. from Old Dominion University in Urban Health and Clinical Psychology; her Masters in Social Work and Bachelors degree in Psychology and Communications from Western Michigan University.
