Kim Sunee was born in Korea and abandoned by her mother at age three. She was adopted by a young
American couple who took her back to the US where she was raised in New Orleans with a sister who was
also adopted from Korea. Her extended family included a grandfather and grandmother who passed
their love of food and cooking on to Kim ‐‐ a passion that has flourished over the years. She later moved to
France and fell in love with businessman Olivier Baussan, the founder of lʹOccitane. Itʹs this relationship that
makes up the heart of A TRAIL OF CRUMBS â€“ a memoir of food, love, and the search for identity.
